The Inspection

Posted on Sunday 22 April 2007

Ready for inspection, all decals and decorations on. All covers have to come off again before the Authorised Person arrives to inpect it.

The day before the inspection we had the LAME from Armidale check it over for anything I missed. The list of nuts “not in safety” were then all fixed, and one bolt I had not tightened. Well worth having someone else look over the job.

The inspection by Howard  Mason from the Gold Coast (the closest AP to here) went off without too many dramas. A few more bolts nearing threadbound etc. and incorrect Log Books. Gave me much advice re. maintenance Releases, log book entries, maintenance schedules etc.

After buying new log books and entering everything correctly, and getting the instruments INST-8 tested, he issued the CofA on the 4th Feb.

Next job is to get myself current so I can safely carry out the first flight.
